Biography

Yetty Komalasari Dewi has been a teaching staff in the field of Economic and Technology Law Studies since 2000. She completed her Bachelor of Laws at the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia, Master of Legal Institutions (MLI), at the Law School of the University of Wisconsin with an ELIP 2 Project Scholarship, USAID , and Doctor of Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia with a Higher Education Scholarship. He obtained the position of Professor on May 5 2023.

Currently, Yetty is Chair of the Economic and Technology Law Study Division, and Chair of the Legal Center for International Trade and Investment (LCITI) FHUI. Previously he was also responsible as Chair of the Academic Quality Assurance Unit (2018-2019), Chair of the International Special Class Sub Program (2016-2017), Chair of the Doctoral Sub Program (2014-2016), and Head of the Leadership Secretariat and concurrently Faculty Secretary (2006- 2008). Yetty was also the Executive Secretary of the Anti-Money Laundering Study Center (PUKAU), a research institute founded by the UI Faculty of Law, the Center for Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis, and Bank Indonesia (2011-2014). Apart from actively teaching, Yety is also active in carrying out various research, both research obtained through various grants and independently. Yetty’s research focus is on issues of company law, trade law, investment law and arbitration both nationally and internationally.

At the national level, Yetty currently carries out his community service function as Assistant to the Special Staff for Legal Affairs of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia (2011-present). At the regional level, since 2016 Yetty has represented Indonesia as Subject Editor, Asian Journal of Comparative Law (AsJCL), National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore. Apart from that, Yetty was also the Rapporteur at the Break-out Sessions: Regional Investment Policy Processes and Their Contribution to Phases 1 and 2 of Sustainable Development-oriented IIA Reform: Developing countries: Asia , The 2019 edition of UNCTAD’s Annual High-level IIA Conference , in November 2019 in Geneva, Switzerland. He represents Indonesia in various international activities, including: The 38 th Session UNCITRAL Working Group III: ISDS Reform, Vienna, Austria, October 14-18, 2019, UNCTAD High-level IIA Conference: “Taking Stock of Phase 2 Reform Actions”, Geneva, 13 November 2019, The 11th session of the UNCTAD  Investment, Enterprise and Development Commission , Geneva, 11–15 November 2019, The 39 th Session UNCITRAL Working Group III: ISDS Reform, Vienna, Austria, October 5-9, 2020, The 40th Session UNCITRAL Working Group III: ISDS Reform, Vienna, Austria, February 8-12, 2021. 

Apart from that, Yetty also has experience as a Visiting Scholar/Fellow in international organizations and educational institutions, including: International Organizations (UNCITRAL, UNCTAD, ACWL, IISD, ICSID and CCSI) in 2019, Faculty of Law, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, the Netherlands ( 2017, 2019), Faculty of Law Leiden Universiteit, Leiden, the Netherlands (2016, 2017, 2019), United Nations, the Hague, the Netherlands (2019), Faculty of Law, Kumamoto University, Japan (2016). He is also a member of organizations such as: Association of Indonesian Economic Law Lecturers (PDHEI) since 2012, Deputy Secretary, National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), since June 2019 Assessor, 2020 Anchor, National Accreditation Committee of the National Standardization Body, since August 2019 , National Reviewer, ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA), since May 2019, Assessor, Society of International Economic Law (SIEL), since 2019, The Asia WTO Research Network (AWRN), since 2020.

Dr. Yetty also actively contributes ideas to various institutions/ministries and the community both as a resource person, expert and chairman in the preparation of various legislative regulations products in accordance with his field of expertise, including LPOM-MUI, Indonesian Ombudsman, BPHN, BI, BKPM, LPS, DPD RI, KPK, BKPM, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Indonesian Police and so on.
